Our Mission
Since 1987, we have led the effort to revitalize and grow Historic Downtown Opelika.
Opelika Main Street is committed to strengthening downtown Opelika through historic preservation, economic development, and community engagement. As a Designated Community through Main Street Alabama and nationally accredited by the National Main Street Center, we follow a proven approach to revitalization centered on four core principles: Organization, Economic Vitality, Design, and Promotion. This method prioritizes local leadership, incremental progress, and strong public-private partnerships to foster a thriving, vibrant downtown for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
“Main Street plays a key role in making things happen downtown.”
— Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller
